A Digital Library Testbed to Support Networked Scholarly Communities
Abstract:
SCHOLNET aims at developing a digital library testbed to support networked scholarly communities. The digital library will provide traditional digital library services in addition to support for non-textual data types, hypermedia annotation, cross-language search and retrieval, and personalized information dissemination. This testbed will be used to demonstrate how an enhanced digital library can enable members of a networked scholarly community to learn from, contribute to, and collectively build upon the community's discipline-oriented digital collections. The project will result in an enhanced digital library infrastructure, serving an ever-evolving distributed repository of a scientific community's knowledge. The digital library would be used actively by the members of the community in everyday individual and/or collaborative tasks and would be regularly updated and extended.

Roadmap on European Research for Smartcard Technologies - Thematic Network
Abstract:
RESET will investigate the RTD needs corresponding to current and expected future technology gaps, identified by the industry and resulting from market and product trends foreseen by smart card industrial users.
This thematic network will describe current and future RTD challenges and deliver roadmaps for RTD on secure devices and platforms, relevant for European and national RTD programmes.
RESET will also identify RTD actors for potential European and international RTD cooperation.

Made-to-measure garments, 2D/3D approach
Abstract:
The MtoM3D research project aims to develop the market and the value of the apparel products made in developing countries by adapting existing industrial solutions to the plus-size sector, a made-to-measure-based activity. Expert knowledge leads to the design of a pattern-alteration system, prototyping and validation being achieved in a 3D simulation of the adapted garment.
