Changes in Irish ERCIM Membership
The Irish Universities Association (IUA) signed the scientific agreement with ERCIM becoming the official Irish ERCIM member.
The 55th meeting of the ERCIM Executive Committee took place at Dublin City University (DCU) on 23 September 2005. In conjunction with the meeting, a signing ceremony was necessary as the official Irish ERCIM membership was moved from Trinity College Dublin to IUA and Dublin City University took over the administrative and financial affairs for IUA. Prof. Ferdinand von Prondzynski, president of Dublin City University (for Irish Universities Association) and Eckart Bierdümpel, Fraunhofer Gesellschaft (for ERCIM) completed the signing process.

The Irish Universities Association represents the seven Irish universities in ERCIM:
- Dublin City University
- Univeristy College Dublin
- Trinity College Dublin
- University of Limerick
- National University of Ireland Cork
- National University of Ireland Galway
- National University of Ireland Maynooth.
