CYCLADES is developing an open collaborative virtual archive service environment supporting both single scholars as well as scholarly communities in carrying out their work.
In particular, it will provide functionality to access large, heterogeneous, multidisciplinary archives distributed over the Web and to support remote collaboration among the members of communities of interest.
CYCLADES is a R&D project from 1 November 2000 to 31 August 2003,
supported by the IST Programme of the European Commission (project no. IST-2000-25456).
CYCLADES has been setup in the framework of the
DELOS Network of Excellence on Digital Libraries
